Lime Paint & Wash™

Lime Paint & Wash™ is a water based, true lime decorating material that can be applied over all finishes created with Faux Effects® products, water based painted surfaces, stucco and raw wood. This product is formulated to create a natural lime finish that once dry, continues the leaching process to bring out the oxidized color of the embedded lime material.

Product Tips
- This product has a high PH level, clean all tools immediately after using to prevent corroding.
- For spray applications, use a large spray fluid cap of at least 70 thousandths orifice.
- Lime Paint & Wash™ will dry lighter. If more intense colors are required, increase the amount of colorant added.
- Always make a sample to ensure the desired result.
- Permit each layer to dry thoroughly before applying additional washes.
- Lime Paint & Wash™ can be tinted with FauxCrème Color™ and other commercial colorants formulated for lime-based materials.
Basic Application
- To ensure that the surface is clean and well sealed, apply 2 thin, even coats of SetCoat® Clear or SetCoat®.
- Allow to dry overnight.
- Thin Lime Paint & Wash™ up to 25 – 50% with water. Divide the mixture into 2 batches. Pick two complimentary colors and add the desired amount of colorant to each batch.
- Using a brush, roller or spray unit, apply both color mixtures at the same time creating a soothing, random color pattern. Let the color mixtures bleed together. Allow the finish to dry thoroughly.
- Create a third color mixture of Lime Paint & Wash™, water and color. Wash this mixture over the work surface and permit the material to run and streak as if it were separating from the base.
- Let the finish dry thoroughly. This handsome finish will continue to age and look beautiful for years to come.
