  • The lime and minerals contained in these products are non-toxic, durable and washable.
  • If water is splashed on the surface of unsealed StucoLux™, it will darken the surface. The finish will lighten back to the original color once the water evaporates.
  • For added protection and water resistance apply a coat of Olde World Venetian Sealer™ and/or a coat of Olde World Venetian Wax™ if desired.
  • Attributes including finish texture and sheen depend on burnishing technique being applied to the product at the end of the application process.
  • Ensure that the substrate is clean and free from oil, grease or any foreign substance.
  • Apply a coat of SetCoat® or Texture SetCoat™. *Important Note: The base coat must be thoroughly dry before proceeding.
  • Using a stainless steel application trowel, apply a sheer, very thin coat of StucoLux™ to the surface using short upward strokes. This first coat should be applied as smoothly as possible; some graceful trowel lines are permitted in this first base layer. It is best to work wet into dry for this application. Natural imperfections will enhance the color patterns when StucoLux™ is burnished during the final stages. Each light coat of StucoLux™ will dry fully in approximately 30 to 60 minutes depending on conditions.
  • To achieve the best results, a minimum of 3 thin coats is recommended. This will create better film formation and ultimately a more refined look. Once the final coat has been applied and is 80% to 90% dry, the burnishing process may be started. Less pressure is needed when burnishing is started at this stage.
  • Holding a stainless steel burnishing trowel at a slight angle (20°-30°), run the edge of the trowel over the surface using light pressure. Cheesecloth, terrycloth or a plastic bag can also be used for the initial burnishing. Once this step is complete go back over the entire surface using increased pressure on the trowel. This will result in a high gloss shine.
  • V.O.C. Compliant
  • The material has a general resistance to alkali, bacterial attack and exterior exposure
  • Resistant to abrasion and extreme changes in climate
  • Impervious to humidity, while still allowing the substrate to breathe
  • Do not discharge into drains, sewers, water retention areas, or other bodies of water
  • Contain the product by adding an absorbent (Oil-Dry, cat litter, etc.) before disposing of according to local regulations
  • Wear the appropriate protective gear (gloves, goggles, outerwear)
  • Do not apply in temperatures under 55°F, or in damp, cold or humid conditions.
  • Technical product- training through Faux Masters Studio workshop recommended
