  • The lime contained in these products is non-toxic, durable and washable.
  • If water is splashed on the surface of unsealed Olde World Stucco Lustro™ it will darken the surface. The finish will lighten back to the original color once the water evaporates.
  • For added protection and water resistance apply a coat of Olde World Venetian Sealer™ and/or a coat of Olde World Venetian Wax™ if desired.
  • Ensure that the substrate is clean and free from oil, grease or any foreign substance. Determine the appropriate primer for the substrate.
  • If using Olde World Quartz Priming Coat™ as the primer, apply according to directions. Setcoat® or SetCoat® Clear also will work well as a base. *Important Note: The base coat must be thoroughly dry before proceeding.
  • Using a stainless steel application trowel, apply a sheer, very thin coat of Olde World Stucco Lustro™ to the surface using short upward strokes. This first coat should be applied as smoothly as possible; some graceful trowel lines are permitted in this first base layer. It is best to work wet into dry for this application. Natural imperfections will enhance the color patterns when Olde World Stucco Lustro™ is burnished during the final stages. Each light coat of Olde World Stucco Lustro™ will dry fully in approximately 30 to 60 minutes depending on conditions.
  • To achieve the best results, a minimum of 3 thin coats is recommended. This will create better film formation and ultimately a more refined look. Once the final coat has been applied and is 80% to 90 % dry, the burnishing process may be started. Less pressure is required when burnishing is started at this stage.
  • Holding a stainless steel burnishing trowel at a slight angle (45º), run the edge of the trowel over the surface using light pressure. Cheesecloth, terrycloth or a plastic bag can also be used for the initial burnishing. Once this step is complete go back over the entire surface using increased pressure on the trowel. This will result in a high gloss shine.

Due to the highly specialized chemical make-up of this product, they are imported directly from Europe. These products also carry specialized materials which limits shelf life. In an effort to offer only the freshest product, we do not regularly keep these products in stock which leaves real-world delay times as long as 2 months! Please plan accordingly and take this into account prior to placing the order as once it is shipped, the order cannot be cancelled, altered, or returned.

The unit measurement on imported products varies from domestically produced products. Most products on are sold by volume measurements (Gallon, 32 Oz, 16 Oz, ETC.). However, imported products are sold by mass units (kilogram). Although they are sold based on a different unit of measurement, they are packaged in the same containers. 5 Kilogram products are sold in the 1 gallon pail and the 25 kilogram products are packaged in the 5 gallon pail. These containers do not convert to the exact volume of 1 gallon/5gallon so products will arrive only about 3/4 full. You can verify the quantity of your purchase based on a mass measurement.
